  • On the date that the application is made the applicant is a bonafide resident of WV and of the county in which the application is made and has a valid driver's license or other state issued photo identification showing such residence.
  • The applicant is 21 years of age or older
  • The applicant is not addicted to alcohol, a controlled substance or a drug and is not an unlawful user thereof
  • The applicant has not been convicted of a felony or an act of violence involving the misuse of a deadly weapon
  • The applicant has no criminal charges pending and is not currently serving a sentence of confinement, parole, probation or other court ordered supervision because of a charge of domestic violence or is the subject of a restraining order as a result of domestic violence. Or because of a verified petition of domestic violence
  • The applicant is physically and mentally competent to carry a pistol and/or revolver
  • All persons applying for a license must complete a training course in handling and firing a handgun
  • All concealed handgun license applications must be notarized by a notary public
  • The applicant authorizes the sheriff of the county, or his/her designee, to conduct an investigation relative to the information contained in the application provided

WV Class fee is $75

  • A proficiency test is given
  • Private classes are available by appointment.

OH Class fee is $75

 
Special arrangement classes can be held in all counties of West Virginia and Ohio and the state of Florida.

A non-refundable deposit of one half of the class fee is required during pre-registration. It is non-refundable as we must pay registrations prior to your class and we cannot recoup that cost even if you don't attend the class. If you cannot attend the class and contact us by midnight on the Thursday before your scheduled class, we can move you to the next class.  
1 A handgun - center-fire only.  
2 A box of at least 25 (WV) 50 (OH) rounds of ammunition.  
3 If desired, handguns may be shared. (This will be the responsibility of the owner.)  
4 Eye and Hearing Protection and all other materials are provided
