Suspicious Activity Hotline |
304-834-3909 |
Office of the Sheriff, Wood County West Virginia |
| The Wood County Sheriff's Office encourages citizens to report suspicious activity. Suspicions activity can be any person, act, event, vehicle or situation that appears questionable. |
This does NOT replace 911 - When seconds count, call 911! |
Trust your instincts! If it "just doesn't seem right" to you, that is when you should call. Report it! |
Remember, you are the eyes and ears of the Sheriff’s Office and your Community. If you have information on drugs, sex crimes, crimes against the elderly, embezzlement, gangs, employee theft, and other crimes that do not require the immediate action of a Deputy please call the Suspicious Activity Hotline! You may be anonymous or leave your name and number. If you leave your name it will be kept confidential.
This telephone does not have caller ID and only Deputies of the Major Crime Unit will review the messages.
|
When calling, speak slowly and clearly, and be sure to report, if you know: |
Who is involved?
What is going on?
Where is it happening?
When did it occur?
How did it happen?
Why are they doing it? |
(This telephone line is paid for by the Concealed Weapon Holders of Wood County)

From the site: "The West Virginia Citizens Defense League (WVCDL) is a nonpartisan, nonprofit, all-volunteer, grassroots organization of concerned West Virginians who support our individual right to keep and bear arms for defense of self, family, home and state, and for lawful hunting and recreational use, as protected by the state constitution and the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution." Jim Mullins does an excellent job in keeping West Virginians informed and is very active in making our voices heard in Charleston. We recommend that every WV gun owner support the WVCDL.
